Our second residence on Oahu, in Pearl City. By my rough calculations we lived here from 1968 - 1972 or so.

The Sandalwood, in Honolulu, across from the Pagoda Hotel and Restaurant. I think we lived here less than a year (early 70's). My main memory of this place is that Harold "Odd Job" Sakata lived in the same building. He and my father became friends and we occassionally went over to his apartment.

Coty Towers, we lived here maybe a year, until '75 (?). A block from Ala Moana Shopping Center, behind the Holiday Mart (now Daiei), down the block from Tower Records (which didn't exist back then of course). Had a great view in those days, all the way to Dole's pineapple in Kalihi.

Mohala Pua Elementary, out in Niu Valley (before one gets to Hawaii Kai). Went here for 3rd grade, it was a Waldorf school, have mainly good memories of this place, learned my multiplication tables here, made candles, read Charlotte's Web.

Went to elementary school here from 4th - 6th grades. Some painful memories (discussed in part here). On being back nearly 30 years later, couldn't get over the fact that I had gone to school in such a sublimely beautiful setting.

Memorial to my Uncle Gary who passed away in '89. My father and aunts scattered his ashes in the ocean, and planted a tree for him in Makiki Heights.
