Jessica, the Mitaka City Gallery of Art is right in front of the Mitaka station (South exit -- if you take the North Exit you are actually in Musashino City). As you exit, look for the Coral Building ahead of you (name will be written in katakana). There should also be a sign announcing the Gallery on the 5th floor. Enter the building and make your way up via the elevator (not escalator -- it doesn't go up to the 5th). You may have to wade through the women's lingerie section to do so, don't worry, you're on the right track. At the Gallery, ask for a map to the Mitaka City Arts Center which is where the 2nd half of the exhibit is. The Center is about 1km away, a nice walk and not complicated. There are various bilingual pointers as you go indicating the direction of the center as well as distance left to walk (buses also make this route, No. 53 I think). Well worth the walk. Actually, you could make a day of it, as Mitaka is also the home of the Ghibli Studios (Hayao Miyazaki), as well as the burial place of novelist Osamu Dazai (at Zenrinji Temple). There is also Inokashira Park which I've heard is one of the best parks in the Tokyo area (never been).

Getting to Mitaka is easy, just take the Sobu (color yellow) line from Shinjuku station, headed west.

Those photos look so beautiful. Where in Mitaka is the City Gallery? I'd like to go sometime, but since I've just moved to Japan, I still need to get oriented, and I'd like to see these since I myself am wanting to get into photography (therefore, blogs like yours have been of great interest).

I've just added photos of my own on my blog, so I would really like to see this exhibition to get inspired and improve.
