This is a blog about the process of building a new house in Japan. I currently live with my wife and son and my wife’s parents in a small city just north of Tokyo. We are being asked (told?) by the city that we must move from our current house, which my wife’s family has lived in for about 30 years. The city is giving us a same-size plot several hundred meters away in the same neighborhood, and will pay us for the current house which is supposed to be demolished in Fall of 2006. I hope to use this blog as a way to keep those interested up-to-date on the progress, and more importantly, to serve as a notebook of ideas and what-not of the process. My main blog is here.
