Forgive me for commenting on my own post, but think of this as an update or footnote:
Little did I realize until some random surfing just now alerted me to it, but apparently there has been some controversy this year about Google (and other search engines) and how high up in searches the Churge of Scientology ranks. See here for more info, although apparently the “problem” has been fixed.
