Kanazawa images — signage

I haven’t felt like writing about my recent trip to Kanazawa and Matsumoto, mainly because I’ve been sick and feeling blah about things in general. I don’t feel capable of offering up any commentary that’s beyond the “it was nice” variety. So here are some photos instead. I thought I would group them loosely, so will start off with some signage that appealed to me from Kanazawa*.

* The second photo is actually from Wajima, a coastal town about 2 hours north of Kanazawa on the Noto Peninsula.

Good news on moblogging front

Read today at Six Apart that Mena Trott, co-developer of Movable Type, the software that this and countless other blogs are powered by, has bought a T-Mobile Sidekick device to play around with. Some folks have been using this to moblog with. That MT’s creators are exploring moblogging bodes well for MT to soon have support for posting from mobile devices as part of its product. As Mena herself writes:

How better to get the features you want in a tool than by convincing the developers that they need them for themselves?

(Truth be told, they had already indicated as much in MT’s Support Forum way back in July of last year, but it’s still good to read additional affirmation of this.)

Another test of mobile posting

Another test of mobile posting … an idea: compose in email tool and then copy and upload to wapblogger, to save money. … The more I think about it, the more I see this as a “sidebar” feature of the blog, rather than an integral part. Pics or no pics, these posts would always be of the snapshot variety, spur of the moment musings…
