Kanazawa images — snow

More images from my trip last week to Kanazawa, this time focusing on snow. I wanted to see snow during my trip…next time I’ll be more careful for what I wish for, as it was seemingly never-ending. But truthfully, I loved it. For me it was a kid in the candy store feeling, and made my trip.

  1. My favorite thing about the web is looking at people’s snapshots, so keep doing that. I haven’t made it to Kanazawa yet, but almost. I got as far as Tojinbo/Awara Onsen in Fukui by bicycle from Osaka on my first spring vacation in Japan, hooking around the east side of Biwako and then over the mountains to Tsuruga (70km/h on the way down) and up the Echizen coast of Fukui prefecture. Absolutely gorgeous countryside in Japan, I’m sure you agree. And the country people, whom I thought would be backward and prejudiced against foreigners, were kind, helpful and hospitable beyond belief. Knew almost no Japanese, had no reservations (in Golden Week), ran entirely out of money due to my humorous misunderstanding of bank holidays and the lack of seaside ATM’s, and had the best time of my life.
